The engine was slightly tweaked from that in the 993, and put out 523bhp once it hit 6,500rpm. A wide torque spread saw the maximum 502lb-ft put out right from 2,200 to 4,500rpm. Reassuringly, carbon-ceramic brakes are standard. And all that power goes through the rear wheels only.
