It isn\u2019t far off, but you need that last 10 or 15% to really scratch the itch.<\/p>\n<p>Well the first issue everyone acknowledged about the 488 was it\u2019s exhaust note, turbocharging, quiet, no high pitched howl \u2013 you\u2019ve heard it all before a million times. This will, of course, raise a check engine warning light as the car\u2019s ECU will register a fault with the no-longer-present cats \u2013 the solution is to install a module that clears the specific code that arises in this case. Again, his customer opted for the Capristo OBD wizard which plugs directly into the OBD port within the driver\u2019s footwell. We always emphasise that this unit will <strong>ONLY <\/strong>cancel the check engine light pertaining to this specific cat-related fault, other than this your onboard diagnostics will continue to operate as normal!<\/p>\n<p>Not only does the decat system increase the volume significantly, it also helps to raise the pitch and markedly reduces backpressure which allows the engine to breathe more freely and results in even sharper throttle response and a marginal gain in horsepower.<\/p>\n<p>The next modification the customer elected to install was Capristo\u2019s 488 performance box \u2013 this is a piggy-back device that increases the power from an already fearsome 670PS to a staggering 720 PS. This is limited in order to provide the engine with some headroom, we don\u2019t want to run the car at the absolute limit of its abilities in order to minimise any chance of damage to the drivetrain due to undue stress. Capristo estimate that in theory they would able to go up to 750PS, but feel 720PS is a good trade-off between power increases and considerations of the health of the drivetrain overall.<\/p>\n<p>With the exhaust and Performance box agreed upon the customer then turned his attention to increasing the suspension\u2019s capability to manage the increase in power \u2013 this is where Novitec\u2019s absolutely stunning Sport Suspension was the obvious choice. This is an upgrade we install time and time again, and have enjoyed some absolutely fantastic results from &#8211; not only does this modification allow you to modify the aesthetics of the car by lowering it and getting it hunkered down, the fact that the springs are variable rate actually makes them even more competent than the factory springs that the car came with.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.scuderiacarparts.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/WhatsApp-Image-2019-08-28-at-20.26.29-1.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-3393\" src=\"https:\/\/www.scuderiacarparts.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/WhatsApp-Image-2019-08-28-at-20.26.29-1-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"740\" height=\"555\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.scuderiacarparts.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/WhatsApp-Image-2019-08-28-at-20.26.29-1-1024x768.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.scuderiacarparts.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/WhatsApp-Image-2019-08-28-at-20.26.29-1-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.scuderiacarparts.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/WhatsApp-Image-2019-08-28-at-20.26.29-1-768x576.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.scuderiacarparts.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/WhatsApp-Image-2019-08-28-at-20.26.29-1-533x400.jpg 533w, https:\/\/www.scuderiacarparts.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/WhatsApp-Image-2019-08-28-at-20.26.29-1.jpg 1600w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 740px) 100vw, 740px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>We always make clear that you are not going to find the ride spine crumbling, the very fact that the springs are variable rate means that under normal driving conditions they behave no differently to the OEM parts. They provide a supple and compliant ride until you start giving the car a bit more of an aggressive kick with your right foot. Under load the springs stiffen up, meaning that when accelerating or decelerating the car is more stable and planted than the stock set up \u2013 when you dive into a corner you will find turn in sharper, roll to be noticeably minimised and the predictability of the chassis to be night and day when compared to the factory suspension.<\/p>\n<p>Having carried out all of these material modifications to the behaviour of the car the customer had a number of small aesthetic changes that we carried out for him \u2013 namely wrapping the side skirts, side intake air blades and roof in gloss black as well as repainting the brake calipers in Giallo complete with Ferrari Decals.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.scuderiacarparts.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/WhatsApp-Image-2019-08-28-at-20.26.30.jpeg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-3391\" src=\"https:\/\/www.scuderiacarparts.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/WhatsApp-Image-2019-08-28-at-20.26.30-768x1024.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"740\" height=\"987\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.scuderiacarparts.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/WhatsApp-Image-2019-08-28-at-20.26.30-768x1024.jpeg 768w, https:\/\/www.scuderiacarparts.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/WhatsApp-Image-2019-08-28-at-20.26.30-225x300.jpeg 225w, https:\/\/www.scuderiacarparts.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/WhatsApp-Image-2019-08-28-at-20.26.30-300x400.jpeg 300w, https:\/\/www.scuderiacarparts.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/WhatsApp-Image-2019-08-28-at-20.26.30.jpeg 1200w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 740px) 100vw, 740px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>This is another example of a <strong>\u201cfinal 10%\u201d<\/strong> build where our focus is on increasing the drivability of the car.
