The Italian supercar company has taken the luxury SUV market by storm with the release of the Maserati Levante<\/a>, and German tuning house Novitec has been working hard to produce an upgrade package for their first ever SUV. What they have come up with<\/span> is an astonishing amount of extra performance from the engine, some tasteful and elegant carbon aero upgrades and their usual combination of beautiful forged wheels, lowered suspension and interior customisations. There is even an \u2018Active Sound\u2019 sports exhaust option for those diesel owners.<\/p>\n

Depending on which base model you have, the Levante could be pushing as much as 500bhp once Novitec have worked their magic. The sportiest model, the Levante S, has a 3L twin-turbo V6 and with a Novitec remap, the engine gains 64bhp up to 494 total, with an additional 80 Nm of torque. Its top speed is extended to 272km\/h and it accelerates to 0-100km\/h in just 4.8 seconds \u2013 incredibly, that\u2019s the same as a new 5L V8 Ford Mustang or a 991 Porsche Carrera Cabriolet!<\/p>\n

There is also engine tuning available for diesel engines as well, given that they hold the majority of the market, so if you own the 275bhp stock option, you will be looking at an increase of 47bhp up to 322bhp and +51bhp from 250bhp to 301bhp for the entry-level diesel.<\/p>\n

These power kits are not all about performance gains though, what you also get is a powerful torque curve, flawless refinement, exemplary emissions, moderate fuel consumption and maximum durability, which will all round improve your Levante driving experience.<\/p>\n

Onto the exterior, and Novitec have carefully crafted four \u2018visible\u2019 carbon upgrades that lend the SUV a touch of motor racing flair. These lightweight components comprise of a Front Spoiler Lip<\/span>, Side Panels<\/span>, Rear Spoiler Lip<\/span> and Rear Diffusor<\/span>. They can be bought together as part of a carbon package or separately as individual components, but each adds character and an edge of sportiness to the Levante.<\/p>\n

On top of this, the Levante\u2019s looks are improved with the addition of Novitec\u2019s NM1 forged wheels, which are available in either silver, matte black or titanium. These 22\u201d alloys come with five double-spokes and are available either mounted with high-performance tyres or as stand-alone wheels. The handling is further optimised by the Novitec lowering module which lowers the ride height by approximately 25mm and also adds to its sporty stance.<\/p>\n

Diesel owners will also be pleased to know that there is an \u2018Active Sound\u2019 exhaust option available as well to give a bit more of a visceral experience whilst driving your new sporty Italian SUV. Controlled by a \u2018Sport\u2019 button on the steering wheel, this processor-driven auxiliary control unit will give the V6 turbo an improved engine note when you put your foot down.<\/p>\n
